January 23, 2013. A fairly typical day with an atypical wisdom tooth extraction thrown in.
darrrrk morning, 6:30-ish.
nooooo.
morning husband.
he makes the lattes.
we drink them in the dark.
at about 7am this truck started beeping incessantly while it dropped a giant dumpster on the street next door. it shook the house.
Shaun left for work. Sigh.
I would like to lay here, but BEEP BEEP BEEP.
messy bed.
less messy bed.
pants.
gonna start some laundry.
laundry room reflection.
breakfast soysage.
nom.
eat and read some Feast for Crows.
afraid to see what is under the hat.
eh.
moved stuff to the dryer.
heating the bathroom in an attempt to get the nerve up to take a shower.
heeey there.
sweater lines and bruise from whacking into the freezer door.
shower.
messy wet braid.
made myself some lunch, torfurky lunch meat on 12 grain bread.
got the first part of the day off my camera while I ate.
dishes.
done.
pulled out the dry clothes.
put on some Dark Shadows.
& folded.
ate some of these. pretty hilarious how they act like "natural" and "veggie" means healthy. These are not healthy. They are just potato chips shaped like fries and they are delicious.
worked on crocheting this bag for Shaun to keep his knitting in.
brushed my teeth, it's almost dentist time!
this hat may be too big.
Shaun got home, changed clothes.
and off we went, to the dentist!
Dentist's office.
waiting room.
in the chair!
Shaun was with me because moral support.
The dentist was finishing up with someone else, so I read some more Feast for Crows.
The assistant came in, stuck the topical q-tip in my mouth and leaned me waaaaay back.
The dentist came in, gave me extra novacaines and Shaun gave me reassuring squeezes.
I tried to read while the numbening was happening.
NUMB and deer in headlights. I was pretty out of it for the next couple of hours with pain and tension.
There she is, like a fish hook. It hurt more than just "some pressure". I almost cried but didn't, it was intense and my face and hands were shaky and the pulling itself was worse than I expected, but I clotted up like a champ and it didn't hurt much by the next day.
Goofy swollen smiles.
I noticed in these pictures I had a little blood on my face. Also, at this moment it was hurting pretty bad.
Went to Whole Foods for soup and cornbread. The soup guy gave lots of recommendations, some of them good (don't go jogging, relax) some of them terrible (take an aspirin and don't drink any water tonight) and it was all awkward because my mouth was full of gauze and I couldn't talk at all.
leaving Whole Foods, the sky was getting pretty pretty.
pretty sky on the drive home.
home!
when I took the gauze out, it hurt pretty bad. Released some pressure, I think.
soup!
saturday night live on hulu.
more crochet.
finished the bag section. just needed handles at this point!
comforting swollen face snuggles.
hello reinbear and bed!
did my daily q&a and sketch journaling.
Shaun read a bit.
I put Dark Shadows on and watched that while Shaun was reading.
bed! and more dark shadows until I started to fall asleep, which wasn't much later.
